Problem:
This issue was reported to Lotus Quality Engineering and has been addressed in
Notes Client 5.0.3.
Excerpt from the Lotus Notes and Lotus Domino Release 5.0.3 QMR fix list:
Install
SPR# RBUH4DNQL9 - Properly install all files required to create SSL keyrings
for All Clients, Designer Client, and Administration Client. Please note that
users need to install from the R5.0.3 CD to acquire these files; they will not
automatically be upgraded using the Incremental Installer. [5.0.3]
Two files, DMSECADM.DLL and NHTTPSEC.DLL, are needed on the workstation to
create server keyrings for SSL. If you installed only the Notes client or
Administrator client, the NHTTPSEC.DLL file was not installed. Therefore, the
client crashed when you attempted to create the keyring files.
To work around the issue in earlier releases, install the Designer client or
select All Clients during installation. These install types include the
necessary DLL files.
In another case, a crash occurred as the key ring was loading because two
versions of these files were found on the server machine. QuickPlace was
installed in a separate directory, and the same two DLL files - DMSECADM.DLL
and NHTTPSEC.DLL - existed there. To resolve the problem, the customer
reinstalled the Notes client so it found and used the appropriate versions of
these files.
